" We would like to thank everybody at the Imperial Hotel for the excellent service they gave us leading up to, during and after our wedding day. We were very determined to stamp our own personalities on our wedding day and the staff at the Imperial helped us get everything just the way we wanted.

As we wanted a Christmas wedding the hotel were generous enough to decorate the hotel and reception room at an earlier date than normal to accommodate us. The use of candles and personal touches within reason were not a problem with them, unlike other hotels in the general area. When we arrived in the reception room on the wedding day it had exceeded all our expectations exactly as the hotel wedding coordinator had told us it would. The room looked amazing. The food was excellent, just like it was on the sampling night and the flexibility with the menu was far better than anything we had come across while looking at other hotels.

It was not served like typical wedding food style. Each plate was very individual in presentation and was as good as any restaurant dining experience. Staff were non-intrusive the whole way through the meal and long into the night but were always there when you needed them which is a credit to the hotels management style. As we supplied our own wine selection the staff, on checking out the next day, informed us that there were some bottles left over and packed them for us to bring home. This was very honest of them.

In general, we found the staff very informed and professional and they took a genuine interest in getting it right for us. They helped us with everything from sourcing chair covers, piano player, rescuing our wedding cake from potential disaster to accommodating all the guests needs, even in the early hours of the morning with people looking to book rooms at the last minute. Our guests have commented on numerous occasions since our wedding how good the Imperial was on the day and to our knowledge nobody had a bad experience. Some of them plan to hold their own wedding receptions there in future. We would highly recommend the Imperial Hotel as a venue for your wedding reception."
