Rock of Cashel - Day Trip from Ennis

The Rock of Cashel is a lovely day trip for visitors to Clare. It is the most visited heritage site in Ireland and enjoyed a recent visit from Queen Elizabeth II.

An imposing sight, it was the traditional seat of the Kings of Munster for several hundred years and is also said to be the site of the conversion of Aenghus, the King of Munster by St. Patrick, Ireland's patron saint. The Rock of Cashel is one of most impressive collections of Celtic art and medieval architecture in Europe.
