City of Kilkenny
The beautiful medieval
city of Kilkenny lies an hour's north of Dungarvan. Kilkenny Design Centre,
home to exceptional craftsmen and women, is located across from Kilkenny Castle,
which itself offers guided tours of the historic building and its grounds are
a perfect spot to enjoy a Summer picnic. Kilkenny boasts many fine restaurants
and charming, traditional pubs and has a wealth of shopping boutiques and craft
shops. The progressive Kilkenny Arts Festival with visual art exhibitions,
drama and music performances, takes place each August, but for a belly-full of
laughs, visit the city during the Cats Laugh Festival in June.

Waterford
Crystal has traditionally extended a warm welcome to visitors from around the
world to its factory showrooms at it home in Waterford City.
Tours are
given of the production areas where the famous crystal is actually made, with
an audio visual presentation, tracing the ancient craft of glassmaking to the
present day.
Home of JFK
Located an hour's drive from
Dungarvan, the birthplace of the late John F. Kennedy's great-grandfather, the
JFK Ancestral Home offers visitors an audio-visual presentation and guided tour
through the historical setting of the Kennedy legacy.
Nearby is a memorial
arboretum, formally dedicated to the memory of John. F. Kennedy (President of
the United States 1961 - 1963). A miniature railway runs during the Summer months
and families enjoy, not only the beautiful gardens, but also the picnic area and
play unit for children.
