To this date Flynn Hotels remains one of Ireland’s finest family owned hotels. With properties in Cork (The Imperial Hotel), Dungarvan (The Park Hotel), Ennis (The Old Ground Hotel) and Kilkenny (The Newpark Hotel), Flynn Hotels offers its guests a fantastic experience in accommodation, dining and true Irish hospitality.
Beginning in Dungarvan, the late Elizabeth (Dottie) Flynn started it off with The Park Hotel. Prior to this the Flynn family had already become known locally for their hospitality, with a foundation in local property - Whitechurch House.
The Park Hotel is situated in Dungarvan, a harbour town located at the heart of County Waterford. On the doorstep of the Comeragh mountains with its breath-taking waterfall and country wide view it offers a perfect experience of the sunny south east. The recent opening of the Waterford Greenway, a spectacular 46km bike/walking trail, means you can now enjoy all the sunny southeast has to offer just minutes from the steps of The Park Hotel.
Over time the business grew with brothers John, Allen and Pierce bringing the hotels forward into the present day.
The Old Ground hotel was bought in 1995 by brothers Allen & John Flynn and has since enjoyed a continuous programme of extension and refurbishment. Built in the early 18th Century this unique 4 star Ennis Hotel is on the doorstep of the Cliffs of Moher and the Wild Atlantic Way on the west coast of Ireland.
Whether it’s golfing on some of the most picturesque courses in Europe or visiting the unique Aran Islands, the west coast of Ireland has much to offer, with The Old Ground Hotel an ideal starting point.
The Imperial Hotel Cork was purchased in July of 1998. An iconic gem in the heart of Cork City, The Imperial has been part of some of the most important dates in history, with Michael Collins spending his final night on earth here in 1922.
A beautiful 4 star hotel, The Imperial has gone under substantial renovations over the years, with most recently a large re-investment in bedrooms as well as a complete redesign of the bar; ‘Seventy Six on the Mall’.
In 2008 the Flynn Family acquired local hero The Newpark Hotel in Kilkenny. In the time since, The Newpark has gone from strength to strength, becoming one of Ireland’s most loved hotels, especially for families. With a large ballroom as well as 135 bedrooms the hotel is also known for being a beautiful wedding venue with excellent service. In recent years the hotel has undergone substantial improvements, most notable the addition of the Newpark Adventure Trail.
Offering an experience like no other, kids can come here and play at the Wildlife Farm, race on our Little Rascal’s Go Karting track or even (just sometimes!) spot a fairy on our Fairy Trail. Most recently, The Newpark was crowned Ireland’s Family Friendly hotel 2018 by Hotel & Catering.
The Flynn Hotels continue to adapt and improve to the ever-changing needs of the guest. One thing however that never changes is our overall commitment to our guests and their experience with the Flynn Group.
