Our Journey Through Time
The Park Hotel Dungarvan
Beginning in Dungarvan, the late Elizabeth (Dottie) Flynn started it off with The Park Hotel. Prior to this the Flynn family had already become known locally for their hospitality, with a foundation in local property – Whitechurch House.
The Park Hotel is situated in Dungarvan, a harbour town located at the heart of County Waterford. On the doorstep of the Comeragh mountains with its breath-taking waterfall and country wide view it offers a perfect experience of the sunny south east. The recent opening of the Waterford Greenway, a spectacular 46km bike/walking trail, means you can now enjoy all the sunny southeast has to offer just minutes from the steps of The Park Hotel.
Over time the business grew with brothers John, Allen and Pierce bringing the hotels forward into the present day.
A Legacy of Hospitality
The Old Ground Hotel
The Old Ground hotel was bought in 1995 by brothers Allen & John Flynn and has since enjoyed a continuous programme of extension and refurbishment. Built in the early 18th Century this unique 4 star Ennis Hotel is on the doorstep of the Cliffs of Moher and the Wild Atlantic Way on the west coast of Ireland.
Whether it’s golfing on some of the most picturesque courses in Europe or visiting the unique Aran Islands, the west coast of Ireland has much to offer, with The Old Ground Hotel an ideal starting point.

Newpark Hotel Kilkenny
Since acquiring the much-loved Newpark Hotel Kilkenny in 2008, originally opened in 1966, the Flynn Family has carefully evolved the property into one of Ireland’s most cherished destinations.
Today, the hotel is renowned for its warm welcome, exceptional service, and outstanding reputation as a leading family-friendly retreat. With 132 beautifully appointed bedrooms and an elegant ballroom, Newpark Hotel is equally celebrated as a premier wedding venue, offering unforgettable celebrations in a truly picturesque setting. Newpark Hotel weddings have been widely recognised, with the hotel named Wedding Venue of the Year at the Lets Talk Weddings Awards 2025, as well as Wedding Venue of the Year Leinster at both the Wedding Online Awards and the Wedding Venue Awards 2026.
